Nvidia announces GameWorksVR alongside the Release of GeForce GTX 980 Ti
Nvidia announced GameWorksVR, a software development kit for Virtual Reality (VR) headsets. Nvidia states that GameWorksVR will "blaze the trail for VR" and "help VR headset and game developers build incredible experiences on GeForce GPUs".
GameWorksVR is a software development kit for Nvidia GPUs with which game developers can push the limits of VR and create incredible gaming experiences.
Nvidia notes:
"GameWorks VR combines features nosotros announced back at GDC 2022 under the banner of VR Straight with new and enhanced capabilities.".
GameWorks VR includes:
- "NVIDIA Multi-Res Shading (MRS) - An innovative new rendering technique for VR. With NVIDIA MRS, each part of an image is rendered at a resolution that improve matches the pixel density of the concluding displayed VR paradigm. This technology uses the multi-projection architecture of the GeForce GTX 980 Ti GPU to render multiple viewports in a unmarried pass. The effect: substantial performance improvements for VR games.
- VR SLI - Provides increased performance for VR apps. Multiple GPUs can be assigned a specific center to dramatically accelerate stereo rendering. With the GPU affinity application programming interface, VR SLI allows scaling for PCs with two or more than GPUs.
- Context Priority - Enables control over GPU scheduling to back up advanced VR features such as asynchronous time warp. This cuts latency and apace adjusts images as gamers movement their heads, without the need to re-render a new frame.
- Direct Manner - Delivers plug-and-play compatibility for VR headsets. With Straight Mode, the NVIDIA graphics driver recognizes the headset as a VR display rather than a standard desktop monitor, providing a more than seamless user experience.
- Front Buffer Rendering - Lets the GPU to render directly to the front buffer to reduce latency."
VR headset evolution company Oculus is excited virtually Nvidia GameWorksVR, especially the "Direct Style" feature listed to a higher place.
Oculus tweets:
"Excited to encounter NVIDIA's GameWorksVR announcement today! Direct way volition help enable plug-and-play compatibility between Rift and GeForce."
Oculus has announced the recommended requirements for the consumer version of its virtual reality headset the Oculus Rift. The Oculus Rift will crave an Nvidia GTX 970 or an AMD 290 GPU and an Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater CPU for the optimal feel.
You tin can view the complete list beneath:
Oculus Rift Recommended Requirements:
NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater
